I love my new travel companion
"I got this to use while traveling, and man, I'm in love with Black Ember. I love the aesthetics, the materials, the overall quality. The size of this sling is perfect for traveling, not too big, not too small. It only lacks a bit of compartment organization on the main compartment. But you can always throw inside a tech pouch. Would be nice to have some more pockets inside, though. The bag is not too as blocky as I thought it would be, which was a nice surprise. I was worried this would look too blocky like a camera bag, but since I don't have the camera add-on inside, the bag won't look too boxy, just a tiny bit of malleability, which soothes a bit the overall boxy shape. Looks elegant and sleek. I had to pay 50USD to ship to Canada, which is a bit painful, plus another 90CAD of import Taxes and Fedex fees. But even after all that, I'm very happy with my purchase, and I look forward to get more Black Ember products."

After 1. 5 years of heavy use
"consistent heavy everyday use for 1. 5 years, banged around through airports, cities and huffing it trough tough terrain (my job is weird) heavily abused on my part. (always get good questions where I got it and my opinions on this bag!) I also bought all the accessories! LOL ended never using the internal camera padding love the v lock buckle straps Pros: 1. fits a 14 inch mac, and a tablet (yes I know, a bit much) 2. still has room for my camera!! 3. held up extremely well (most scuffs are of my doing, but barely noticeable) 4. the padding on the strap is initially were I thought I'd hate this, but it ended up molding to my shoulders and is still extremely comfortable!!! Cons: 1. the latch point where the strap meets sucks, once it's twisted, it takes a little finagling to get it back to point (I attest this to me over packing it and heavy use which probably cause metal fatigue) 2. the front magnetic front pocket - on the occasion when I over pack it, the magnetic contacts don't always align (this is also a me issue lol) 3. v-lock buckle strap - I use this ALOT and it's seen better days, also a me issue wish list: wish it had an internal safe pocket for passport or storing important docs, a mounting point on hard padding area for an action cam, and since it's wide, a smaller outer side pocket for tchotchkes"

Stunning
"The fit and finish is absolutely amazing. I really enjoy using this bag as the versatility is endless for its uses. The quality and attention to details is far above others. I can’t recommend this product enough. I will definitely be buying more in the future."

Milspec, Mil Tough, Sleek, Improvements needed.
"This is truly a work of art, best sling bag I have ever seen. The materials is military grade, very stiff and durable. Its not codura but a nice blend of plastic codura webbing. . its hard to explain and very impressive. Stonger than codura 1000s. The pockets are well placed, its a business sling. The bag has a great inner lining, rip stop and lots of room for a sling. the zippers are well made. The tabs are clever but too long. The new luggage sleeve is really a great addition and well placed. So, its a 5 star bag, no doubt but what can be improved are the harness placements. The sling bag as a sling when its loaded heavy cants using the shoulder strap and its not a vertical hold unless you put the shoulder strap in the middle. There should be some latch points in future iterations so the bag hangs without a cant. The middle grip area is slightly fragile and bends in under heavy load, it should be fortified with a bar near the handle adding the ridgid need. The inks should be bigger on the shoulder strap so at least to 1 inch so that it can be switchable with the handle notches on the bag or other latch points so there is no cant when holding via the shoulder strap. The inner camera cube takes volume then the pockets of the bag are not really expandable due to the rigid fabric there is not much play room for the outer pockets when fully decked out with 2 lenses, on large flash in the bag. The front pockets become so tight that I cant put anything inside unless its flat. I lose space for my accessories. The innner camera cube should have flex pockets on the side and back. I added some pocket drive adhesive sleeve on the cube to give it more pockets for adapters on the sides and front. This can be improved with simple additions in the future, a flex fabric pocket on the sides and back. If I dont carry another 35MM 6 inch lens, then this problem kind of goes away, still with a camera with lens on placed lens in first and with the a7RV . 5 inch plate it adds bulk to the sides of the bag Since the material is not very flexible or stretchable (good thing) the front pockets are too tight. The bottom strap couldve been better designed instead of just hanging loose on the bottom, the front latch points and the rex hook is very sleek, but the loose strap. . not so much. The harness system with loose straps should be addressed for a sleeker look. Overall, its an awesome design, materials fantastic. The luggage sleeve was a HUGE addition for so little cost. The pull tabs. . well its a little too long, it can be shortened and the bag needs for loop strap points for a water bottle attachment, more laser attachments points."

Impressive materials, impressive craftsmanship.
"Great bag for EDC on vacations. Needed the extra space that was water resistant for my 6 week trip to Japan. Carried everything from diapers to passports and everything in between, filled to the brim! Bag held up extremely well and loved the front flap pocket for easy access to my phone and wallet as they were constantly in need throughout the day. Really took a beating but still looks brand new! Quality materials and hardware makes the bag look elegant. The only problems I had was the swivel for the shoulder strap as it gets stuck when the bag gets set down and out of position. The other was the “O” loop to hold the loose strap as it would turn and tighten up allowing the loose strap to get free. Other than that it’s a solid bag and well worth the money!"
